Silent Mughals Dancing

This is NOT me, but this was basically what we did. Spin.

It all started with a long silent cue, 5 girls, including me, were twirling on to the stage. We were the dancing girls of our small school play, which only had one scene, that was staging the times of Prince Dara Shuko. All you could hear were the shuffling of our feet and the giggles that followed. I didn't chose to be there but it either was this or having a speaking part, which I cloud not possibly handle as I have stage fright.

Before the performance....

The music system wasn't working and they wouldn't let us borrow the school laptop. Pretty much why I didn't believe in this production. We've been only practicing for 3 weeks and this was the first time we are dancing to the music, on the day of the play, or so at least we thought. The teacher wouldn't even listen to our demands. I'm pretty shameless, but getting ridiculed in front of the whole of middle school is just way.....Arghhhhh!!!!

Luckily, I'm brilliant (that's different from a genius) with ideas, so we all run barefoot to get three singers. Yay Me! I'm good! I thought with a huge smirk on my face.

During the performance

With a few words I can describe it:
Most embarrassing dance EVER.

A total flop. A bad thing. The singers didn't even singer, but I don't blame them, she didn't give the microphone. So no music. Dancing is just feet shuffling in different movements without it, in my opinion.(sighs)

The only good thing I got out of this was being a fool during practices.

Btw, the dance form we were doing was called kathak, an Indian form of dancing.

Ni sa

I got the picture from here.
